My Alcohol Problem

She asked; “Do you drink alcohol?”

I stopped.

I thunk.

I wondered.

Why is she asking that? This was a person I’d never met, I was making parking arrangements for an event and these lovely people offered for me to park in their driveway for the duration. And then the question.

Do you drink Alcohol?

How did this become a loaded question – no pun intended. The things that ran through my head.. are they worried I will get drunk on their property and cause them drama? Are they a sober house and they want to make sure I respect that? Does one of them have an alcohol addiction and they want to make sure I don’t trigger them?

Years ago I wouldn’t have given the question a second thought, now it gets a 4th and 5th reading before I respond.

I’m going to explain how I got here or see all the alcohol problem posts here

Welcome.
